1st Workshop on Prediction Markets (PREDICT’27)

Prediction markets

A Workshop Associated with Financial Crypto 2027
12 February 2027
Accra Beach Hotel & Spa
Barbados

Overview

Prediction markets have recently experienced substantial growth in both participation and applications, creating renewed interest in their ability to aggregate information about uncertain future events. Their design raises fundamental questions spanning economics, computer science, finance, security, and law, including how market mechanisms elicit and aggregate information, how prices and liquidity evolve, how participants behave strategically, and how outcomes are resolved. Recent developments have also introduced new questions concerning privacy, manipulation, automated trading, decentralized market infrastructure, and regulatory frameworks. The workshop will bring together researchers from these communities to study prediction markets as financial and information-aggregation mechanisms, with the goal of fostering interdisciplinary discussion between theoretical, empirical, and systems-oriented research.
